Hello!   My name is Carol Schimp.  I am the proud mother of two sons.  Ryan is 20 years old and is a United States Navy Seaman, and Matthew will be 18 years old in June and will begin his senior year in high school next fall.  They have both been very understanding and supportive during my time in the dental hygiene program, although they have complained that they have missed home-cooked meals!

I am in my second year at Harrisburg Area Community College and am looking forward to graduating in May!  Dental hygiene school is quite a challenging experience.  Although it has been a long, tough road, it has lead me to great knowledge, a feeling of accomplishment, and most importantly some wonderful new friends!  I am grateful for the support of my family, my friends, my clients (some of my clients being my family and friends!), my instructors, and my wonderful classmates!

I am very eager to begin my career as a dental hygienist and become more involved in my local component of ADHA.  If not for the volunteers in this organization, I would not have been afforded the opportunity to be among the first group of dental hygiene students to become certified to administer local anesthesia!

After I turn the SDH into RDH, I plan to get back to a life of normalcy!  I plan to read a few books on my beach chair during an annual July beach trip with girlfriends!  I plan to do some networking, catching up, and having fun at the annual ADHA session in VEGAS!!!!  I plan to be do some job searching and interviewing to find my first job as a dental hygienist!  I plan to reconnect with all of my long lost friends and family members who were kind enough to share me with HACC for the past few years!  But most importantly, I plan to pack up a suitcase with my son Matthew, and head down to Florida to hug my sailor!!!
